Cotton Linter is the short cotton fiber remaining on the seed after ginning cotton. Linters are recovered from cottonseed by Delinting process. Cotton is rich in cellulose content and Linters have various applications. It is used in the manufacture of coarse cotton yarn, high-quality mattresses.
Linters are also used in the production of explosives, cellulose acetate, rayon, ethylcellulose, lacquers, and many plastics and other products requiring high-quality cellulose as the raw material. This product is exported to countries such as the USA, Japan, China.
Cotton Seed Hulls are obtained after Dehulling the cottonseed. It is used to mix in the cotton de-oiled cake to provide roughage in animal feed.
Cotton Oil (Washed) is obtained after Expelling oil from cotton seed, and Solvent Extraction of Cotton de-oiled cake. These oils are washed in a Refinery to remove impurities and volatile components. Cotton oil is used for human consumption and sometimes used in blending vegetable oils.
